NATE FIELDS POTTERY

I've been making fully functional stoneware pottery in my home studio at the base of Rattlesnake Mountain in the countryside of Ashe County, NC since 2003.  I like to employ a mix of handbuilding and wheel throwing in my work, but my real passion is texture.  Anything from children's toys to tree bark to trash can become an amazing texture tool and the hunt for these items is a lifelong passion.  For me the most important thing to remember in the making process is to have fun.  It's my goal for the enjoyment I receive during the making process transfer to the ultimate user of the piece and gives them a lifetime of enjoyment as well.
